Simplicity

The Simplicity tractor family consists of nine models and, according to the manufacturer’s classification, is divided into three groups: lawn with rear or side discharge and more powerful garden tractors. This division is very conditional: with the appropriate “linkage”, all tractors are capable of performing a similar range of tasks, although, of course, the larger and more complex the machine, the higher its productivity and wider scope. All tractors have several features in common: the Briggs & Stratton engines (further designated mainly as B & S) of professional or industrial series and hydrostatic transmission are used. The standard equipment also includes headlights, comfortable high seats made of “breathing” materials, cruise control function, 12 V output for connecting additional equipment and many useful details that facilitate maintenance and operation. Tractor models are also divided into four series.

All Simplicity machinery is manufactured in the USA.

Simplicity Regent XL / Regent XL RD

Each model is presented in two versions, differing in the power of the installed engine Briggs & Stratton Intek. For tractors, XL has side discharge, for XL RD - rear. Due to the special design of the front suspension, the turning radius of the tractors is only 31 cm - this is probably the minimum result for vehicles of this class. The “lightest” model, the Regent XL ELT18538, has a single-cylinder engine, wheels with a diameter of 15 "and 20" (front and rear respectively) and a deck with a cutting width of 97 cm, the remaining tractors have two-cylinder engines, and the rear wheels are larger - 22 ".

Two types of Regent XL RD - ELT1840RD and ELT2440RD - are equipped with a 300 l collection box. The width of the deck they are the same - 102 cm, the differences in the engines (B & S Intek V-Twin, 7180 and 8240, respectively), some of the features of the performance and configuration. So, a more powerful model is equipped with a chair with a “mesh” back, hour meter and plug for mulching, for other tractors, plugs or mulch kits are offered as an option. The fourth tractor, the Regent XL ELT2246, with the powerful B & S 7220 Intek V-Twin engine, is equipped with an original 117-cm wide three-legged floating deck, with easy disassembly without tools.

Finally, we note that the weight of Regent models is 235–284 kg. Most manufacturers include such machines to the heavy class, but here they are the most "simple" tractors.

Simplicity Baron XL

These tractors are available in two versions: ELT2140RD and ELT21404RD, which differ in the type of drive: rear or full and wheel size (15/20 "and 16/22"). Frame design and B & S Vanguard engine with a capacity of 21 liters. with. allows you to safely attribute them to the professional class. All-wheel drive version is equipped with power steering and the ability to adjust the position of the steering column. Rear ejection, collector capacity - 325 l. The mowing width is 102 cm. Both this and subsequent models are also fitted with an easy-detachable Free Floating deck, suspended from the hinges at the front, and having rollers across the width at the back. When working, this deck more accurately follows the contour of the lawn and can be used to create drawings and stripes.

Simplicity Conquest

Like the Baron XL, these tractors have two versions: rear-wheel drive (24H52) and all-wheel drive (24H524WDF). The equipment is also similar to the Baron XL, but the technical parameters are much higher. The two-cylinder engine of the B & S 8240 professional series is used, the wheel size is 16/23 “, the width of the three-blade deck is 132 cm. According to the manufacturer’s classification, these tractors weighing under 300 kg are considered to be a garden tractor (previous models were modestly called“ lawn ”). The turning radius of the rear- wheel drive Conquest and Baron is 45 cm, and for all-wheel drive it is 76 cm. The transmission design automatically redistributes the torque when one of the wheels slips, ensuring high throughput even on the rear-wheel drive, and the full-paw model is capable of working on the sand, wet and plowed soil or snow removal even without the use of snow chains.

Simplicity Legacy XL

The top of the lineup among garden tractors Simplicity, weighing almost 600 kg, with huge wheels 18/26 “, which by functionality is more logical to refer to mini-tractors. The engine is a three-cylinder diesel Briggs & Stratton Vanguard with liquid cooling, with a capacity of 27 liters. with. Transmission - hydrostatic intellectual, with a connected front axle and locking rear differential. Steering wheel adjustable with power. The control panel - with a pointer tachometer, voltmeter and fuel gauge. Three-foot Free Floating deck with side ejection has a width of 137 cm, mowing height is smoothly adjustable from 25–127 mm.

Unlike simpler models, this tractor is equipped with a rear three-point hitch of 1 category with PTO, with a working speed of 540 rpm. Switching between the front and rear linkage is a simple key that controls the solenoid. So you can install attachments on the tractor from both sides at once, without wasting time on reconfiguration. Thanks to the hydraulic control system, the position of the attachments can be reconfigured using the 4-position lever (joystick). For the vast majority of garden tractors, adjustment, for example, of the blade-blade is done manually.

All garden tractors are primarily designed for lawn care. However, their capabilities are not limited to this.

The technical parameters and features of Simplicity tractors allow using them for many other purposes, moreover at any time of the year. It all depends on the used attachments. And his choice is large enough, with almost all types of “linkage”, with rare exceptions, suitable for working with any of the tractors described, the differences will be only in geometric parameters: the more powerful the tractor, the greater the width of the treatment. Since this issue of the magazine is “winter”, we will first of all consider equipment that corresponds to the season.
