becomes Komatsu Ltd. Initially, the company was a small repair shop, now Komatsu is the world leader
in the production of construction and mining equipment, industrial equipment and electronics.

Komatsu's history begins in 1921, when Komatsu Iron Works is separated from Takeuchi Mining Co. and
becomes Komatsu Ltd. Initially, the company was a small repair shop, now Komatsu is the world leader
in the production of construction and mining equipment, industrial equipment and electronics.
In 1931, Komatsu produced the first agricultural crawler tractor in Japan, and the years 1947 and 1952
were marked by the “birth” of the first bulldozer and grader. In 1968, production of Komatsu hydraulic
excavators began.
The history of the globalization of the company begins in 1955 - the first export sale of Komatsu took
place, and during 1967 - 71. marketing companies were established in Europe, the USA and Asian
countries.
In Russia, the Japanese company’s machinery has been known since the late 60s, when excavators,
bulldozers, pipelayers, logging trucks and other equipment most in demand at the time, having no
domestic counterparts, began to be supplied to the country. And some Komatsu bulldozers and
excavators of the first "deliveries" continue to bear service to the present.
In 1968, Komatsu opened an office in Russia, in 1998, the Kraneks International Company Limited was
established, in 2010, a plant was opened in the Yaroslavl Region. May 23, 2011, the first in the Komatsu
Technical Support Center in Russia, Polysaevo, Kemerovo Region, opens.
Today, the company owns 8 enterprises in Japan, three in the United States, two in Germany, China and
India, and one each in Canada, Great Britain, Italy, Brazil, Thailand, and Indonesia. Services for the sale
and rental of Komatsu provides through a well-established network of dealers almost worldwide.
Komatsu's net sales (at the end of the fiscal year, March 31, 2011): consolidated volume - $ 22.206
million, unconsolidated volume - $ 8.946 million.
Komatsu Group includes Komatsu Ltd. and 183 companies (144 consolidated subsidiaries and 39
companies included in the equity group).
