Great Plains Manufacturing Inc. was founded on April 1, 1976. The founder and permanent head of the Great Plains is Roy Eplkwest, which has been the path to becoming a company from the first small start- ups to the largest United States producer of soil cultivating and sowing equipment, as well as landscaping techniques. The Great Plains Corporation has five divisions: the Agricultural Division, the International Division, Land Pride (a leading manufacturer of earthmoving equipment and landscaping technology), the Great Plains Acceptance Corporation (GPAC) financing unit for purchasing machinery), the Department of Freight transportation to North America).
For the first two and a half years, the Great Plains company had a small workshop in Salina, Kansas, then in 1979, there was an oversized plant in Assarria, Kansas. To date, the central office is located in the city of Salina, where also our factories are located, the production area of more than 139,355 sq. M, equipped with the latest technology. In addition, open factories in the cities of central Kansas, such as Abilin, Assaria, Ellsworth, Kipple, Lucas, Salina, Typton, and a plant in the city of Slieff, England.
The Great Plains product line was expanded in 1986 with the launch of our Land Pride plant, which became the leading manufacturer of lawn mowers, rotary cultivators, rotary mowers, landscaping machinery, self-propelled lawn mowers and earthmoving equipment. To date, Land Pride has been sold to more than 2000 dealerships throughout North America and is being exported overseas. Two more new Great Plains units were later opened: the Freight Forwarding Department (about 75 trucks carrying goods from North America each day) and the finance department (financing for the purchase of equipment).
The Land Pride Plant is ranked first in North America for the production of landscaping machines, tractor and mini tractor attachments, including grinding machines, lawn mowers, grass seeders, rotary mowers, rear trailer ditches, landscape rakes, snow-removing machines, self-propelled lawn mowers and much more.
The Great Plain range of products and its presence on the international market was expanded in 2010 after the purchase of Simba International, a leading UK manufacturing plant. In addition, representative offices were opened in Ukraine, Russia, France and Eastern Europe.
